Position Summary: Missions, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Permanent Housing Intake and Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the intake process for new clients entering our housing programs, as well as overseeing billing and insurance processes to ensure accurate and timely payments. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.

Position Responsibilities
- Conduct intake interviews with clients entering the program.
- Collect and verify necessary documentation from clients, including financial information.
- Ensure clients meet eligibility requirements and assist in the completion of intake forms.
- Enter intake data accurately into our electronic system.
- Process billing for housing services, including coordination with insurance providers and government programs.
- Prepare bank deposits.
- Monitor client accounts and ensure timely follow-up for any outstanding payments or billing discrepancies.
- Maintain confidential records and documentation in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns related to billing and services.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
Position Qualifications
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in intake, billing, or similar administrative roles preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state programs, insurance billing, and/or social services programs is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software.
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for helping others and working in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and climb (ascend and descend) flights of stairs.
- Other lifting or physical requirements as added from time to time, or as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $23.00 – $25.00/hour depending on qualifications & experience
